Would you wanna see Dustin Hoffman save the Alamo?

Happy Thanksgiving All!

This year I finally got an assignment to bring something. Every year I ask what I can bring and my mom tells me not to worry about it. So they assigned me to make gingersnaps, and here they are!

So delicious looking eh? Yeah, yeah gingersnaps aren't really Thanksgiving day like, but it's what they said I could bring. So today Chubber's and I got up early and made the cookies, then we packed up and headed to the homestead!

I stopped at a red light on the way there and a guy on a motorcycle pulled up behind us. Chubbers who had been in the back suddenly noticed this man without a car behind us and immediately went into attack mode. Of course there was a rear window in the way and he smacked in to it. From my rear view mirror I could see the motorist jumped back slightly, I've never seen Chubbers' fierce face, I'm usually behind him holding the lease, but apparently it's pretty fierce. Then Chubbers got low in the seat, I joked with him (because I talk to my dog) that he was embarrassed about going off on the motorcycle guy. But pretty soon Chubbers lifted his head and wouldn't take his eye off the guy until he finally turned down a side street. So that was Chubbers' very first time encountering a motorcycle. Well, I thought it was funny.

Chubbers loved being there with all the kids, he loves women and children, he's not such a fan of the men. He barked like crazy at my brother-in-law Ben for a while, but I think he quickly realized that he was family. Also, we don't have any trees in our yard so while at "grandma and grandpa's" we played with the leaves, he likes them almost as much as he likes bubbles.

I love turkey.
Turkey day went well, I had a lot of fun with my family, it was loud, but I think that's to be expected from large gatherings (well, large for our house). Tomorrow we are going to make fleece blankets together while watching a movie (okay, so just the girls are - who knows what the boys will be up to). So yesterday we went to the store to pick out the fabric and while we were at the craft store I came across this...

I know right? Santa and the squirrels, who would have thought. No, really, who thought of this? When I think Christmas squirrels are far from my mind, when I think Santa they are even further. If Santa favors the squirrels then my spot on the "nice" list is in serious peril.

I just have to say it- the ginger snaps were awesome!! Also, I finally figured out who Chubbers looks like- William H. Macy. Who knew?
I'll have to send you the picture.
