I can feel the lights sucking the juice out of my eyeball. Suck, suck, suck, suck!!*

The much awaited post of my Cincinnati trip. I figure I'd better hurry up before I forget the whole week!

To start off, I woke up very early on Tuesday morning, grabbed my rice cakes and a cup of water, plugged in the GPS and headed out. It was a fascinating 9.5 hour drive up through D.C., West Virginia, Pennsylvania...West Virginia again and finally, into Ohio. D.C. was my favorite part (sarcasm) as I entered the Capital Beltway and cursed whoever decided that that was a good idea. The GPS was ever so kind as to tell me that I only had to be on there for 5 miles of slow moving traffic...but then I hit the 5 mile mark and it suddenly added on 10 miles. At 10 it added on an additional 7 miles before finally releasing me from the very jaws of Hell...err...beltway.

I had to make a gas and water stop in Ohio where the cashier told me that the bottle of water I was purchasing was 2/$1...yes please. She called me darling and made me feel really welcomed in Ohio. I got to Cassie's house and sat outside, unsure of what to do. The house full of strangers awaited and I needed reinforcements before I entered. I texted Tami who was on her way and told me to go make myself at home (no thanks...no offense, but Cassie was driving Tami...I didn't know anyone in that house). So I sat outside, listening to music and drinking water.

Tami and Cassie finally arrived to we made out way inside. It wasn't weird that Cassie and Tami have kids, I know it should have been weird since last I saw them they were single in Rexburg, ID. But I guess blogs have really helped me to keep up so that when we got together it was hard to believe it had been 7 years since I had seen Cassie!
Cassie's kids gave me a little Ohio Welcome...

Then Tami got cranky from lack of food so I called Sarah to see where she was. Not too far away, but too far for Tami to wait for food. So Cassie sent the little husbandy (I was going for kind of a play on the wording..."little wifey" comes out more naturally) to WHITE CASTLE. The only thing I know about White Castle is that there are burgers and a movie about it. But I have never seen the movie. They have chicken rings...which I ate because who doesn't like chicken rings? I mean, who's heard of chicken rings?

They were good...until a few days later when I was shown a video on YouTube about how chicken nuggets are made. My guess is that Chicken Rings are made in a pretty similar fashion. But don't they look mouthwatering? No Jessica! No! They aren't real!

Anyway. Later on we went for a nice long walk and got soft serve ice cream. I got mine dipped in butterscotch, and then struggled because the ice cream kept wanting to come out of little holes in the dip. I finally showed it who was boss though...and that completes day one. More to come - hopefully soon.
